Franklin Varela yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Décio de Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Franklin Varela made a huge save. In the 9th match minute, Marins SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. Marins SC's Franklin Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Ribeiro in the 13th minute of play. Ramiro Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Ricardo Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marins SC. Franklin Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Décio de Amaral in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Marins SC's Franklin Varela got control of the ball when Décio de Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Marins SC's goalkeeper Franklin Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Décio de Amaral. In the 30th minute Ramiro Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Marins SC got a corner. Bastos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Eduardo de Mendonça ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 32 played minutes Bastos got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Amaral. After having played for 33 minutes, Oséas Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marins SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséas Leme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Décio de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Varela having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Dênis Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Renan Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Bastos's Décio de Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franklin Varela narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Franklin Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renan Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Renan Ribeiro made the kick off in the second half. Oséas Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Ricardo Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franklin Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Décio de Amaral in the 59th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Gil Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Décio de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Varela having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Marins SC's zone, Renan Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Varela came out of the goal and Renan Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74thth minute of the game Renan Ribeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marins SC's Franklin Varela was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Renan Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Marins SC's zone, Renan Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin Varela came out of the goal and Renan Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Décio de Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gil Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bastos's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
