Rui Velasco was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 69 minutes into the match. Pindoretama EC's Genílson Batista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for São Paulo FC. 75 minutes into the match, São Paulo FC's goalkeeper Emerson Albuquerque had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rony Prata. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Nestor do Valle took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Emerson Albuquerque to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, São Paulo FC's Emerson Albuquerque got control of the ball when Rony Prata tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Pindoretama EC booed when São Paulo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball.
