With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hílton Passos in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inácio Monteiro saved Chambica SC from getting behind. When Hílton Passos came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Lajeado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hílton Passos couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the match, Paulo José de Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Inácio Monteiro. Chambica SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo José de Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. André Luís Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15thth minute of the game Hílton Passos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chambica SC's Inácio Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 played minutes Lajeado got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Esteves. A collision led to Lajeado getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Paulo José de Amorim hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Mesquita in the 22nd minute of play forced Chambica SC's goalkeeper Inácio Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lajeado's Hílton Passos in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chambica SC's goalie prevented a goal. Inácio Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Mesquita in the 29th minute of the match. Lajeado's Válter Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Mangueira in the 31st minute of play. Luiz Guilherme Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hílton Passos might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Inácio Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hílton Passos ran back to his position shaking his head. Amadeu Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Válter Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hílton Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Monteiro having to interfere. With a little luck, Lajeado's Válter Madureira got control of the ball when Luiz Guilherme Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu Mangueira to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Chambica SC's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Mesquita came free, but Inácio Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hílton Passos in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Inácio Monteiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. André Luís Mesquita struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Inácio Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lajeado. 72 minutes into the match, Chambica SC's Luiz Guilherme Baiano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Válter Madureira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Inácio Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Mesquita in the 73rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chambica SC's zone, Hílton Passos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Monteiro came out of the goal and Hílton Passos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Luís Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Monteiro having to interfere. The Lajeado fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Lajeado's Hílton Passos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 85th minute, Bebeto Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Luís Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Monteiro having to interfere. Amadeu Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute.
