In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Solonopole SS's goalkeeper Cacá Soares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 5 minutes into the match, Gica Futebol Clube's Nestor Mota sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cacá Soares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 6 minutes into the game, one of Solonopole SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 12th play minute Genílson Britto came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eurico Massa. 1-1. A collision led to Solonopole SS getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Serginho Carioca hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Gica Futebol Clube's Juvenal Couto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Gica Futebol Clube booed when Solonopole SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gica Futebol Clube's Nestor Mota in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Solonopole SS's goalie prevented a goal. Cacá Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Prestes in the 24th minute of the match. Bruno Velasco's late challenge caught a Gica Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Velasco helped the player get up and apologised. Nelsinho de Sena hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Dionísio Mangueira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Solonopole SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Gica Futebol Clube's Laerte Bezerra got a free kick in the 34th minute. Edson de Queiroz hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Prestes in the 40th minute of play forced Solonopole SS's goalkeeper Cacá Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dionísio Mangueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Massa having to interfere. Solonopole SS's Genílson Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eurico Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionísio Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dionísio Mangueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes in the game, Genílson Britto dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 52nd match minute, Gica Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Dráuzio Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Soares having to interfere. Eurico Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dionísio Mangueira's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Dráuzio Prestes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Dráuzio Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Massa having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Genílson Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gica Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Eurico Massa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Solonopole SS booed when Gica Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauã Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eurico Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionísio Mangueira in the 80th minute of play. Genílson Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genílson Britto in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eurico Massa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Dráuzio Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeu Madureira struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Cacá Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gica Futebol Clube. The supporters of Solonopole SS booed when Gica Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráuzio Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Britto in the 93rd minute of play forced Gica Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Eurico Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Gica Futebol Clube players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
