Marcel Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Pimenta in the 7th minute of play. If Lucas Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12thth minute of the game Lucas Sá who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diaurum ES's Marcel Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diaurum ES's Marcel Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Sá in the 13th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Caco Pimenta in the 14th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Marcel Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Pimenta in the 19th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Evaristo Salgado's late challenge caught a Joao AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Salgado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Evaristo Salgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 68 minutes, Lucas Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caco Pimenta struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Marcel Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joao AD. Diaurum ES's Hélder Cearense got his second yellow card of the match in the 73rd minute. The referee ordered Hélder Cearense off the ground. 82 minutes into the match, Diaurum ES's goalkeeper Marcel Sampaio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Sá. Marcel Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Lucas Sá sent off a good shot on target. Marcel Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Pimenta in the 86th minute of the match. Caco Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Sampaio having to interfere. Joao AD's Lucas Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
