Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Celso Porto took the kick off in the first half of the match. Paulão Lira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 4th minute. Corinthians's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Barcelona's Dênis Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Abreu in the 7th minute of play. Manuel Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gonçalo Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Teles in the 11th minute of play. Manuel Abreu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gonçalo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Porto in the 21st minute of the match. Corinthians's Gonçalo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Porto in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Abreu to maneuver through the defense. If Célio Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dênis Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute Celso Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 35 minutes into the game, Célio Leme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcelona the free kick. After 35 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Célio Leme. Gonçalo Prestes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Teles in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Celso Porto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gonçalo Prestes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Celso Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Prestes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Tales Teles made a precise shot to the right of Gonçalo Prestes. Corinthians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 60 minutes of play Corinthians's Célio Leme was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 60 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Célio Leme. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Celso Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barcelona's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tales Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona's zone, Manuel Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Romero came out of the goal and Manuel Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Corinthians's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Celso Porto scored to the left of an out of position Gonçalo Prestes, making the score, 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona's zone, Manuel Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Romero came out of the goal and Manuel Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celso Porto in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonçalo Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Abreu succeeded in the game's 95th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-5.
