Denílson Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Abraão, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Motta in the 21st minute of play forced Subiu Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Luís Guilherme Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toninho de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Luís Guilherme Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Hermes in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to Subiu Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Silvério Sampaio hit a great ball. Luís Guilherme Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Subiu Esporte Clube booed when Muribeca SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Subiu Esporte Clube's Magno Toledo tried to score from far away in the 43rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.

When Muribeca SC's Dudu Motta, in the 52nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Muribeca SC. After 53 played minutes Subiu Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Nunes. In the 54thth minute of the game Dudu Motta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Subiu Esporte Clube's Luís Guilherme Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Subiu Esporte Clube's Chicão Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 54th minute. Reinaldo Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Zé Paulo Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Duda Machado came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Muribeca SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duda Machado couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute Zé Paulo Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Guilherme Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dudu Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bebeto Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson Rossi having to interfere. Zé Paulo Hermes might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Guilherme Branco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Paulo Hermes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 92nd minute, Dudu Motta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Guilherme Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Muribeca SC's attack was well implemented in the 96th minute, but when Dudu Motta was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick.
