Cléberson Pontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Dorival Paranaense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Imbahu EC's goalkeeper Dorival Paranaense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléberson Pontes. Imbahu EC's Maurício Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Imbahu EC's Dorival Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero Maranhense in the 14th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cícero Maranhense got free with Dorival Paranaense in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dorival Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vladimir Britto in the 18th minute. Cléberson Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Imbahu EC's Dorival Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero Maranhense in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Maurício Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cícero Maranhense in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorival Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dorival Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Maranhense in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, Imbahu EC's Dorival Paranaense got control of the ball when Cléberson Pontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Imbahu EC's goalkeeper Dorival Paranaense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléberson Pontes. If Cléberson Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cícero Maranhense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dorival Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cícero Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Dorival Paranaense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cléberson Pontes's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Maurício Branco hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. When Canguera's Cléberson Pontes in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 71 played minutes Canguera got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Britto. Cícero Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Dorival Paranaense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canguera. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Imbahu EC! Ronaldo Paranaense shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Dorival Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cícero Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cícero Maranhense in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorival Paranaense saved Imbahu EC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Maranhense in the 96th minute of play forced Imbahu EC's goalkeeper Dorival Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite being the better team, Canguera failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
