Alfredo Moura was slow to take the kick. During this time Canabravao EC's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ezequiel Luz in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gildo Saraiva saved Ajax from getting behind. 13 minutes into the game, Canabravao EC's Ezequiel Luz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gildo Saraiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gildo Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The supporters of Ajax booed when Canabravao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gildo Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 44th match minute, Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Prata to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ezequiel Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Gildo Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Canabravao EC's Alfredo Moura got a free kick in the 59th minute. Júlio Pontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivo Linares's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Gildo Saraiva made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Décio da Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th minute of the match Canabravao EC got a corner. Ajax's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Moura ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ajax's goalie and right to Thomás Falcão. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ajax's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The supporters of Canabravao EC booed when Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Canabravao EC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
