He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Formosa reached it. In the 9th minute, Almir Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, Jardel Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Pernambucano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 15 minutes into the game, Armandinho de Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Formosa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vivituty FC the free kick. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Giovani Vianna got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomé Prata during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Vivituty FC booed when Formosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomé Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Vivituty FC's Anselmo Amaral broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Loureiro in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jairo Pernambucano saved Vivituty FC from getting behind. Vivituty FC's Jairo Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Loureiro in the 30th minute of play. Betão Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Formosa's Reinaldo Loureiro got a free kick in the 39th minute. Dráusio Bastos made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Marcos Mesquita sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Formosa's Jardel Cunha got a free kick in the 45th minute. Jardel Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Pernambucano having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jairo Pernambucano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Loureiro in the 56th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Formosa's Jardel Cunha slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jairo Pernambucano. That made the score 0-2 after 57 minutes of play. Reinaldo Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dráusio Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Vides in the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Vivituty FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Rezende to maneuver through the defense. Jardel Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinaldo Loureiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Jairo Pernambucano made a huge save. Jairo Pernambucano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jardel Cunha's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Jardel Cunha struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jairo Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formosa. Jairo Pernambucano made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Reinaldo Loureiro sent off a good shot on target. Formosa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
