Henrique Vidal started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Dragões de Santiago FC booed when Contendas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Benjamim Furtado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabrício Marinho skillfully saved the ball. Henrique Vidal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrício Marinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Serginho Diniz scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabrício Marinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Serginho Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrício Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Vidal in the 22nd minute of play. Fabrício Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 24 minutes into the game, Elano Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Contendas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragões de Santiago FC the free kick. Elano Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Contendas FC's Ademar Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dragões de Santiago FC's Gilberto Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Santos in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Elano Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arthur Saraiva hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game, Henrique Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dragões de Santiago FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Contendas FC the free kick. Tião Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Gaúcho having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tião Santos to make the kick off. When Elano Vidal was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. After 90 played minutes Contendas FC got a freekick which was hit by Elano Vidal. Fabrício Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serginho Diniz took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabrício Marinho. Fabrício Marinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dragões de Santiago FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
