If Jorginho Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, CRUZEIRO EC's Jorginho Campidelis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dieguinho de Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, CRUZEIRO EC's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Furtado came free, but Cleiton Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute of the match CRUZEIRO EC got a corner. Profeta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolas de Lima ran over to the corner to take the kick. CRUZEIRO EC's Nicolas de Lima was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dieguinho de Medeiros in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jorginho Campidelis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Jorginho Campidelis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dieguinho de Medeiros. Profeta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorginho Campidelis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 23 minutes, Enio Quintal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRUZEIRO EC and the Profeta players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Claudinho Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dieguinho de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiliam Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Cordeiro in the 29th minute of play forced CRUZEIRO EC's goalkeeper Cleiton Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiliam Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dieguinho de Medeiros having to interfere. After 35 played minutes Profeta got a freekick which was hit by Frédson de Toledo. If Wiliam Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CRUZEIRO EC's Jorginho Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicolas de Lima, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When CRUZEIRO EC's Wiliam Soares in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiliam Soares to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Wiliam Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dieguinho de Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 55th minute, Remo Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Profeta's Wiliam Furtado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cleiton Motta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Cordeiro got free with Cleiton Motta in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Profeta booed when CRUZEIRO EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugênio Urbano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dieguinho de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Wiliam Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Dieguinho de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Cordeiro got free with Cleiton Motta in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 96 minutes into the match, Wiliam Furtado notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of CRUZEIRO EC's Cleiton Motta. Cleiton Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. CRUZEIRO EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
