After 4 played minutes, Borjaço Fut Club's Ivo Nóbrega shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zé Barbosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Borjaço Fut Club reached it. 10 minutes into the match, Borjaço Fut Club's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Schmidt came free, but Valdo Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Teles struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Zé Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borjaço Fut Club. If Samuca Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 20 minutes, Giovanni Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borjaço Fut Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovanni Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Borjaço Fut Club's goalkeeper Valdo Pernambucano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmyr Carioca. Zé Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Teles in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Carioca in the 46th minute of play forced Borjaço Fut Club's goalkeeper Valdo Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giovanni Teles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the game, Silas Schmidt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Valdo Pernambucano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 66th minute, Rafael Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 71 played minutes Giovanni Teles rounded Buquim's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. 74 minutes into the game, Silas Schmidt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Valdo Pernambucano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Giovanni Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Buquim defense, Samuca Coutinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Barbosa. The Buquim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Barbosa should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Walmyr Carioca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Pernambucano was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Zé Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Teles in the 87th minute of play. Buquim's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Agnaldo Cordeiro in the 90th minute. The corner led Buquim's Agnaldo Cordeiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Valdo Pernambucano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Buquim fans cheered their team off the field, for while Borjaço Fut Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
