Chiquinho Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Natanael Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinícius Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fellipe Alcântara during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes Atlético Gaucho got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Alcântara. In the 42nd minute Amadeu Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Natanael Galvão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Válbson Tepedino hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Chiquinho Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalmo Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 62nd minute, Amadeu Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atlético Gaucho were furious when Zé Roberto Leão was red carded, 71 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Itapucu booed when Atlético Gaucho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itapucu's Geraldo Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius Nóbrega having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Itapucu's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Valadares came free, but Vinícius Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 played minutes Atlético Gaucho got a freekick which was hit by Natanael Galvão. Itapucu's Artur Fontes was substituted for Adalmo Bezerra. Natanael Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Geraldo Bueno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapucu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Gonçalo Penha struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Chiquinho Machado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapucu. Itapucu's Fausto Silveira was substituted for Geraldo Bueno. 89 minutes into the match, Itapucu's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Valadares came free, but Vinícius Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Atlético Gaucho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernão Paraense to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Itapucu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
