Pantera Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mauriti the free kick. Orlando Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Nilson Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Nilson Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duarte Prata was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After 44 minutes, Erik de Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pantera Futebol Clube and the Mauriti players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mauriti booed when Pantera Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Nilson Dias in the 57th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pantera Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Duarte Prata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nilson Dias spun around in front of the goal 61 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Pantera Futebol Clube's goal. Nilson Dias struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Duarte Prata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mauriti. 69 minutes into the match, Rômulo de Souza notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pantera Futebol Clube's Duarte Prata. Duarte Prata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Osvaldo Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pantera Futebol Clube's protests and gave Osvaldo Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. Nilson Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Pantera Futebol Clube's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
