After a rather tough play, Piratas.FC's Mauro Costa got a free kick in the 5th minute. José Pedro Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nildo Bertassi in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute Marquinhos Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marquinhos Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 21st minute, Anderson Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Nildo Bertassi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Contagem E.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Vladimir Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Contagem E.C's Dalmo Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Viana in the 32nd minute of play. Vladimir Viana struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Dalmo Mineiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piratas.FC. With a little luck, Contagem E.C's Dalmo Mineiro got control of the ball when Vladimir Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Contagem E.C's Dalmo Mineiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Contagem E.C from getting a goal against them. After having played for 42 minutes, Vladimir Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piratas.FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Vladimir Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Nildo Bertassi made the kick off in the second half. Dalmo Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Bertassi in the 62nd minute of play forced Piratas.FC's goalkeeper José Pedro Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Tarcisio Prado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Contagem E.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piratas.FC the free kick. The supporters of Piratas.FC booed when Contagem E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Prado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Contagem E.C's Dalmo Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Mendes in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Contagem E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráusio Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. José Pedro Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anderson Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marquinhos Negri came free with the goalkeeper in the 81st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Pedro Maciel could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Negri got free with José Pedro Maciel in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anderson Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Tarcisio Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anderson Mendes in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dalmo Mineiro saved Contagem E.C from getting behind. Contagem E.C succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Piratas.FC had controlled the match.
