In the 28thth minute of the game Cafu de Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Contagem E.C's Dalmo Mineiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eduardo Garcia in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmo Mineiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dalmo Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu de Brito in the 31st minute of play. Luís Fábio Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Nildo Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco SA's Claudinho Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cafu de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Mineiro having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduardo Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Contagem E.C's Dalmo Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Garcia in the 60th minute of play. If Cafu de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
