Mundahu's Oséas Couto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Mundahu from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in C P D Aço Minas's zone, Tadeu Siqueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Gonçalves came out of the goal and Tadeu Siqueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinei Varela during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, C P D Aço Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Varela to maneuver through the defense. If Tadeu Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gil Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Tadeu Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot.
