The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nestor Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldão Couto in the 20th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, one of Madeira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave CLUBE REGIONAL CARANDIRU a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. CLUBE REGIONAL CARANDIRU's Sílvio Luiz Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armando Bastos charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. CLUBE REGIONAL CARANDIRU's Nestor Castro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save CLUBE REGIONAL CARANDIRU from getting a goal against them. After 38 played minutes Ronaldão Couto rounded CLUBE REGIONAL CARANDIRU's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sílvio Luiz Toledo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Rodrigues got free with Elói Nogueira in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Nogueira having to interfere. Nestor Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diguinho Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Madeira's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alberto Rodrigues fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 96thth minute of the game Sílvio Luiz Toledo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Madeira's Elói Nogueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The CLUBE REGIONAL CARANDIRU players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
