Guga Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Zé Paulo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Orlando Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóvão Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Tavares having to interfere. Agostinho Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Secco in the 16th minute of play. When Diamantino Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Medivale FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Sampaio couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the game, Diamantino Sampaio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zé Paulo Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristóvão Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Tavares having to interfere. Paripe SC's Orlando Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orlando Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cristóvão Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the game, Medivale FC's Guga Arantes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Paulo Aguiar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guga Arantes was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Medivale FC's Claudinho Arce got a free kick in the 56th minute. After 57 played minutes Medivale FC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Arce. Cristóvão Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Tavares having to interfere. Agostinho Tavares came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Paripe SC's Orlando Secco. But to his dismay, Orlando Secco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Paripe SC's Zé Paulo Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Paripe SC from getting a goal against them. Bruninho Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Guga Arantes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Paulo Aguiar having to make a save. Gláuber Viana's late challenge caught a Medivale FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gláuber Viana helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Paripe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Neto to maneuver through the defense. Medivale FC's Guga Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Medivale FC reached it.
