Geovânio Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibúrcio Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bonsecesso's Artur Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis Batista in the 12th minute of play. Afonso Moura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Artur Lopes made a huge save. 0-1 became the score in the 18th minute when Laerte Guimarães elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Régis Batista dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Artur Lopes, 1-1. A collision led to Bonsecesso getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Sérgio Tinoco hit a great ball. Geovânio Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Guimarães in the 45th minute of play. Tibúrcio Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Régis Batista made the kick off in the second half. Afonso Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Lopes having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Laerte Guimarães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tibúrcio Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kiko Paes during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Bonsecesso booed when Poli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Tibúrcio Dante left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bonsecesso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Laerte Guimarães kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Geovânio Tavares. That made the score 1-4 in the 62 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Laerte Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bonsecesso's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovânio Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kiko Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Poli FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Guimarães came free, but Geovânio Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tibúrcio Dante's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Geovânio Tavares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The attack was good, but when Laerte Guimarães in the 81st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 84 minutes into the match, Poli FC's goalkeeper Geovânio Tavares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tibúrcio Dante. The crowd rose to their feet as Bonsecesso's Laerte Guimarães slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geovânio Tavares. That made the score 1-5 after 85 minutes of play. Régis Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Artur Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Tinoco charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sérgio Tinoco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 90 played minutes Bonsecesso got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Tinoco. Bonsecesso played a much better game than Poli FC and deserved their victory. The Poli FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
