Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Leopoldo Lara got the match started through his kick off. Adhemar Amorim took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Varela. César Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Adhemar Amorim struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. César Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canaa. After 11 minutes of play, Canaa's Leopoldo Lara made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. César Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! César Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Lara in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Leopoldo Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, Xablau Loverboy's Cipriano Branco made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Renato França was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Canaa booed when Xablau Loverboy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Xablau Loverboy's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Lara came free, but César Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. César Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Arósio in the 30th minute of play. Paulo Renato França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Rodrigues was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Canaa's Leopoldo Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Adhemar Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Canaa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adhemar Amorim couldn't finish the play. If Adhemar Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cipriano Branco to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlos de Castro hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Adhemar Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Carlos de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 59 minutes, Zacarias Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canaa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zacarias Urbano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 61 minutes, Eliézer Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulo Renato França showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Branco in the 73rd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Xablau Loverboy's goalkeeper César Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Lara. César Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Arósio in the 76th minute. Iuri Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Varela having to interfere. Canaa's Iuri Prestes got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leopoldo Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. César Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Canaa booed when Xablau Loverboy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball.
