In the 21st minute, Maicon Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ismael Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredinho Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Arí Paulista got in the 26th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ismael Romero handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Remedio's goalkeeper Dinei da Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Arí Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Remedio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arí Paulista couldn't finish the play. Alfredinho Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ismael Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arí Paulista to make the kick off. Lúcio Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lúcio Ramos hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Maicon Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arí Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Coroata's Ismael Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Coroata from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Remedio's zone, Maicon Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dinei da Rocha came out of the goal and Maicon Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredinho Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Coroata's Dorival Batista got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Ismael Romero was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Arí Paulista capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arí Paulista really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2.
