An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Pontes in the 6th minute of play forced Remedio's goalkeeper Dinei da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Mattinha SC's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Paulista came free, but Eusébio Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Sílvio Batista came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Mattinha SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Batista couldn't finish the play. Mattinha SC's Adolfo Breckenfeld couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Remedio. Alfredinho Valadares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusébio Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Mattinha SC's Eusébio Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Paulista in the 30th minute of play. Sílvio Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Dinei da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Remedio getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Lúcio Ramos hit a great ball. The audience cheered when Adolfo Breckenfeld's long shot passed Dinei da Rocha's right side. It was 1-1, 34 minutes into the match. Lúcio Ramos in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eusébio Coutinho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Sílvio Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remedio's Alfredinho Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sílvio Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sílvio Batista to strike the kick off in the second half. Alfredinho Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Eusébio Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Natanael Pontes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Mattinha SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natanael Pontes couldn't finish the play. When Paulinho Tasso fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Remedio's protests and gave Paulinho Tasso a yellow card for diving instead. Paulinho Tasso hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Dinei da Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natanael Pontes in the 63rd minute. The referee gave Remedio a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by William Prestes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mattinha SC's Eusébio Coutinho. 2-1. Oséas Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. If Natanael Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mattinha SC's Eusébio Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Paulista in the 77th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 78th minute by Natanael Pontes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Mattinha SC's Natanael Pontes got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mattinha SC's goalkeeper Eusébio Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eusébio Coutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 99th minute, Arí Paulista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eusébio Coutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mattinha SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Remedio.
