The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Vítor Borges during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's João Vítor Borges got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Vivaldo Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Arthur Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arthur Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tião Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Arthur Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benedito Queirós in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Diniz in the 16th minute of play forced Itapoan SS's goalkeeper Arthur Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Haroldo Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonçalo Bittencourt in the 19th minute of play. Durvalino de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Arthur Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Bittencourt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belchior Silva in the 28th minute of play forced S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's goalkeeper Haroldo Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itapoan SS's Arthur Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Rosa in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Délio Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itapoan SS the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonçalo Bittencourt in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haroldo Paraibano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Haroldo Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belchior Silva in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th minute, Epifanio Cordairo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapoan SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tião Rosa made a kick off. Gonçalo Bittencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Belchior Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Paraibano having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Gonçalo Bittencourt notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's Haroldo Paraibano. Haroldo Paraibano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 83 played minutes S.C Petrolina em Vermelho got a freekick which was hit by Tião Rosa. Belchior Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Haroldo Paraibano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Gonçalo Bittencourt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's Benedito Queirós got a free kick in the 87th minute. Haroldo Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Bittencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Gonçalo Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Paraibano having to interfere. When the match was over Itapoan SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than S.C Petrolina em Vermelho throughout the match.
