Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Vitinho da Silveira made the kick off and thus started the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albertinho Sabóia during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Bernardes SC booed when Matoso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertinho Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Vítor Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Nilmar Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bernardes SC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vitinho da Silveira in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilmar Lopez saved Matoso from getting behind. José Vítor Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vitinho da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Bernardes SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vitinho da Silveira couldn't finish the play. José Vítor Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitinho da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Nilmar Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bernardes SC. If Edgar Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, one of Bernardes SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bernardes SC. José Vítor Gonçalves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilmar Lopez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Nilmar Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho da Silveira in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Matoso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Matorin to maneuver through the defense. José Vítor Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardes SC's Vitinho da Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matoso's Maurinho Velloso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bernardes SC. A collision led to Bernardes SC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Claudinei Nóbrega hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Matoso defense, José Vítor Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilmar Lopez. The Matoso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilmar Lopez should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio Sarmento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nilmar Lopez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vitinho da Silveira's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Matoso's zone, José Vítor Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilmar Lopez came out of the goal and José Vítor Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Matoso:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bernardes SC:s goal. Vitinho da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Nilmar Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Vítor Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Nilmar Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bernardes SC. After having played for 70 minutes, José Vítor Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bernardes SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Vítor Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agnaldo Aparecido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Sarmento in the 80th minute of the match. If Vitinho da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Bernardes SC's José Vítor Gonçalves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nilmar Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vitinho da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Nilmar Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Cléberson Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Agnaldo Aparecido. Bernardes SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cléberson Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Nilmar Lopez was out of position in the 100 minute of play, and Marquinhos de Sousa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marquinhos de Sousa really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3.
