After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Nildo Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezia's supporters rose to their feet, but Nildo Pernambucano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faustão de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Lucas hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Vitório Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Elano Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th play minute Nildo Pernambucano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Faustão de Azevedo. 1-0. After a rather tough play, Venezia's Jefferson de Mendonça got a free kick in the 21st minute. Faustão de Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Saldanha in the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezia booed when Tijolinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Valdir Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Igor da Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Venezia getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Toninho Saraiva hit a great ball. Vitório Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toninho Saraiva's late challenge caught a Tijolinho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toninho Saraiva helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 minutes of play, Venezia's Nildo Pernambucano made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Faustão de Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Tijolinho FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Florin Cristescu hit a great ball. The supporters of Venezia booed when Tijolinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Mumbach didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor da Fonseca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fred Cabral came out and tried to block the shot, but Igor da Fonseca slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 84th minute. Faustão de Azevedo came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezia's Nildo Pernambucano. But to his dismay, Nildo Pernambucano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Venezia were victorious despite being under pressure from Tijolinho FC for much of the match.
