Matheus Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eusébio Cavalcante having to make a save. After having played for 19 minutes, Rui Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. desportivo américa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute Rui Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matheus Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Bemposta's zone, Matheus Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Cavalcante came out of the goal and Matheus Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rui Vasconcelos came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the desportivo américa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Vasconcelos couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute Reynaldo Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bemposta's Reynaldo Maranhense got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Matheus Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. desportivo américa's supporters rose to their feet, but Matheus Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Maria Proença was the one to do the kick off. Rui Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Eusébio Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for desportivo américa. Reynaldo Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrinho Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Bemposta booed when desportivo américa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrinho Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 minutes of play, desportivo américa's Matheus Barreto made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eusébio Cavalcante was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bemposta's Eusébio Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matheus Barreto in the 67th minute of play. Eusébio Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusébio Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Vasconcelos in the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Matheus Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81stth minute of the game Rui Vasconcelos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bemposta's Eusébio Cavalcante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eusébio Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matheus Barreto in the 85th minute of play. Eusébio Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
