Luís Couto might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lúcio Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Couto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute, Catita SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edgard Couto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 32nd minute Luiz Fábio Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulinho Brodel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lúcio Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Fabinho Negri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomás Paraense. Catita SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabinho Negri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Fabinho Negri took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomás Paraense. Thomás Paraense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Maicon Neves hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sidnei de Mendonça in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edgard Couto made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Paulinho Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catita SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulinho Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sidnei de Mendonça in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Sidnei de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catita SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidnei de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luís Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lúcio Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei de Mendonça in the 79th minute. After 86 minutes, Edgard Couto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FAROL DO SABER F C and the Catita SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew the final whistle, FAROL DO SABER F C could leave the field as winners, despite Catita SC having more of the ball for most of the match.
