Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alberto Paraíba got the match started through his kick off. Carlinhos Lira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baltazar da Silveira. Indaiatuba's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Baltazar da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After a rather tough play, Ilheus's Humberto Mattos got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute, André Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Indaiatuba's zone, Décio Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar da Silveira came out of the goal and Décio Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Fernando Vasconcelos took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baltazar da Silveira. Baltazar da Silveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Vasconcelos in the 16th minute of play forced Indaiatuba's goalkeeper Baltazar da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Indaiatuba's zone, Décio Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar da Silveira came out of the goal and Décio Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristiano Proença scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Carlos Hermes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 33 played minutes Indaiatuba got a freekick which was hit by Silas Messias. When Zézinho Custódio came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Ilheus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zézinho Custódio couldn't finish the play. Humberto Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Décio Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Baltazar da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Hermes having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ilheus's zone, Cristiano Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Carlos Hermes came out of the goal and Cristiano Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The wind increased when Carlos Fernando Vasconcelos made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Cristiano Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot. Indaiatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Proença was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Fernando Vasconcelos in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baltazar da Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Décio Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ilheus's supporters rose to their feet, but Décio Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Indaiatuba's Baltazar da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Vasconcelos in the 69th minute of play. José Carlos Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Paraíba in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Indaiatuba's Eusébio Melo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Eusébio Melo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Indaiatuba protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eusébio Melo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The Ilheus players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Indaiatuba from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
