Elivélton Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elivélton Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandão Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Elivélton Meira was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Arlindo Ferraz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arlindo Ferraz really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Arlindo Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Elivélton Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Fernandão Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Fernandão Moreira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elivélton Meira. Areial EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernandão Moreira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Areial EC's zone, Fernandão Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elivélton Meira came out of the goal and Fernandão Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Motta in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elivélton Meira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 38 minutes, Fernandão Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itamorotinga EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandão Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Betão Breckenfeld was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Areial EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itamorotinga EC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Areial EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Elivélton Meira, was totally fooled by Itamorotinga EC's Cássio Cardoso, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandão Moreira was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Itamorotinga EC booed when Areial EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Meirelles didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 52 played minutes, Itamorotinga EC's Cássio Cardoso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elivélton Meira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itamorotinga EC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Moreira in the 54th minute of play forced Areial EC's goalkeeper Elivélton Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arlindo Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Areial EC's Elivélton Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Moreira in the 58th minute of play. Elivélton Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Ferraz in the 62nd minute of play. Betão Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Arlindo Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elivélton Meira having to interfere. Elivélton Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Ferraz in the 76th minute of play. Itamorotinga EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
