The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henrique Fantini during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 minutes, Maurício Dracena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the neiboure and the Jequia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to neiboure getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Maurício Dracena hit a great ball. Gustavo Valle's late challenge caught a neiboure's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Valle helped the player get up and apologised. Gustavo Valle hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Jequia's Matheus da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Dracena in the 21st minute of play. Tomás Cardoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustavo Valle went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Henrique Fantini struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Matheus da Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for neiboure. Murillo Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Jequia got a freekick which was hit by Christian Neves. Gustavo Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Tomás Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maurício Dracena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Waldir Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Dracena in the 62nd minute of play forced Jequia's goalkeeper Matheus da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquinhos Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Maurício Dracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Matheus da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Gustavo Valle sent off a good shot on target. Giuseppe Fontes charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuseppe Fontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of neiboure:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jequia:s goal. Zé Loyola shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Waldir Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Cardoso having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Maurício Dracena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Henrique Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Henrique Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomás Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. With a little luck, neiboure's Tomás Cardoso got control of the ball when Gustavo Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
