An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Cardoso in the 11th minute of play forced Jacuecanga FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Sabino Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gentil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sabino Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute, one of Jacuecanga FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jacuecanga FC. After having played for 21 minutes, Sabino Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gentil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sabino Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 played minutes Jacuecanga FC got a freekick which was hit by Nico da Costa. 25 minutes into the game, Luís Fabiano Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jacuecanga FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gentil the free kick. A collision led to Jacuecanga FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Castro hit a great ball. Mateus Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Nunes having to interfere. Gentil's Charles Nunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Gentil from getting a goal against them. Rodolfo Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovani Nascimento in the 36th minute of the match. Jacuecanga FC's Mateus Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mateus Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Charles Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sabino Abreu to strike the kick off in the second half. When Mateus Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Jacuecanga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateus Loyola couldn't finish the play. Charles Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute Sabino Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Geovani Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gentil's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovani Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Mattos having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Geovani Nascimento put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rodolfo Mattos. Rodolfo Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 73rd minute of the match Luís Fabiano Castro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luís Fabiano Castro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 74 played minutes Jacuecanga FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Castro. If Sabino Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sabino Abreu in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Mattos saved Jacuecanga FC from getting behind. When Geovani Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Gentil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Nascimento couldn't finish the play. Jacuecanga FC's Rodolfo Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabino Abreu in the 89th minute of play. If Mateus Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mateus Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Jacuecanga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateus Loyola couldn't finish the play. Gentil's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
