Leonardo Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. XVI De Março. 17 minutes into the match, Manhumirim City's Silas Silveira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mathias Prestes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antônio Toscano might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mathias Prestes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio Toscano ran back to his position shaking his head. Antônio Toscano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. XVI De Março's zone, Antônio Toscano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Prestes came out of the goal and Antônio Toscano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Antônio Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antônio Toscano in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mathias Prestes saved E.C. XVI De Março from getting behind. Thanks to some nice moves Fred Netto could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Leonardo Donato however easily saved by the left post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antônio Toscano made a kick off. If Ronaldão Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 53 minutes, Silas Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manhumirim City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silas Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Manhumirim City booed when E.C. XVI De Março was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manhumirim City's Antônio Toscano came free and shot a quick shot against goal 57 minutes in the game, fortunately Mathias Prestes had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The supporters of E.C. XVI De Março booed when Manhumirim City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias Prestes made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Silas Silveira sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind E.C. XVI De Março's goalkeeper Mathias Prestes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mathias Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Fernandinho Alcântara made a precise shot to the right of Leonardo Donato. Manhumirim City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Antônio Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 played minutes Antônio Toscano rounded E.C. XVI De Março's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Despite being the better team, Manhumirim City failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
