Hílton Lago's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Telmo Baptista firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 31st minute of the match Fabinho Dionísio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Telmo Baptista skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Tamburi's Beto da Silveira got a free kick in the 35th minute. Tamburi's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Carlos Fernando Alvarenga 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Travassos in the 45th minute of play forced Urutagua's goalkeeper Roger Munhoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th play minute Hílton Lago came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Telmo Baptista. 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Fernando Alvarenga made a kick off. Telmo Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Roger Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bebeto Cosme in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Tamburi getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Beto da Silveira hit a great ball. Telmo Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Alvarenga in the 59th minute of play. Hílton Lago struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Telmo Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Urutagua. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Fernando Alvarenga in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Telmo Baptista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Tamburi's Beto da Silveira got a free kick in the 65th minute. Telmo Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hílton Lago in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tamburi's goalkeeper Telmo Baptista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benê Leme's late challenge caught a Urutagua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benê Leme helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Fernando Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Telmo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Carlos Fernando Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Urutagua's Carlos Fernando Alvarenga got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Tamburi's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Alvarenga came free, but Telmo Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tamburi booed when Urutagua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anderson Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Telmo Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Alvarenga in the 95th minute of the match. Carlos Fernando Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
