The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rodrigo Peixoto hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Schmidt in the 7th minute of play forced Caiubi SC's goalkeeper Maicon Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Guto Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maicon Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 minutes of play, BARCELONA MINEIRO's Dráusio Schmidt made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maicon Neto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Júlio Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Maicon Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maicon Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, BARCELONA MINEIRO's Gil Dionísio got control of the ball when Laércio Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Caiubi SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Eduardo Brito to maneuver through the defense. After 39 played minutes Caiubi SC got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Passos. After 40 played minutes, BARCELONA MINEIRO's Vitinho Meira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maicon Neto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in BARCELONA MINEIRO reached it. In the 42nd minute, one of Caiubi SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caiubi SC. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Rodrigo Peixoto made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Caiubi SC's Maicon Neto got control of the ball when Dráusio Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Caiubi SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Maicon Neto, was totally fooled by BARCELONA MINEIRO's Sandro Arruda, who 66 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Jonas Vaz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Dráuzio Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, BARCELONA MINEIRO's Guto Vinhas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Maicon Neto. Maicon Neto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. After a rather tough play, BARCELONA MINEIRO's Ezequiel Vides got a free kick in the 87th minute. With a little luck, Caiubi SC's Maicon Neto got control of the ball when Dráusio Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dráuzio Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. BARCELONA MINEIRO had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
