An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Magalhães in the 9th minute of play forced Macahubas EC's goalkeeper José Paulo das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Fabiano Esteves made a kick off. When José Maria Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Macahubas EC's protests and gave José Maria Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th match minute, Macahubas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Róbson Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo das Neves having to interfere. José Paulo das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Pernambucano in the 65th minute of play.
