When Noel Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the ceara de sp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Abreu couldn't finish the play. Benjamim Amorim came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by ceara de sp's Noel Abreu. But to his dismay, Noel Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, ceara de sp's Silvério de Lara got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute, Luiz Gustavo Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silvério de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Benjamim Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Rui Berger notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Nazaria FC's Benjamim Amorim. Benjamim Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. ceara de sp's Rui Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Neto in the 32nd minute of play forced Nazaria FC's goalkeeper Benjamim Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Silvério de Lara fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ceara de sp's protests and gave Silvério de Lara a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ceara de sp getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Silvério de Lara hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Ezequiel Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, ceara de sp's Jaime de Lara tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ezequiel Mendonça's late challenge caught a ceara de sp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ezequiel Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Nazaria FC's Ezequiel Mendonça got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Gerson Neto took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Benjamim Amorim to make any attempt to save it. Nazaria FC's Benjamim Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Neto in the 62nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as ceara de sp's Gerson Neto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benjamim Amorim. That made the score 0-6 after 79 minutes of play. Benjamim Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Berger in the 86th minute. ceara de sp's Vivaldo de Amaral suffered a concussion in the 93rd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ezequiel Ramos during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. ceara de sp's Jarbas Tasso was substituted for Vivaldo de Amaral. A collision led to Nazaria FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ezequiel Ramos hit a great ball. A hard shot by Hermínio Moreira from long distance, 96 minutes into the match, got Benjamim Amorim's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. ceara de sp played a much better game than Nazaria FC and deserved their victory. The Nazaria FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
