The Digolas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Amaral should have stopped the shot. When Aírton Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Digolas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aírton Meireles couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Digolas FC's Zé Carlos Penha got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute of the match Artur Goiano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomás Amaral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Cedro Futbol Club's Luís Fábio Varela got control of the ball when Álvaro de Godoy tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Cedro Futbol Club's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Artur Goiano hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Luís Fábio Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Álvaro de Godoy in the 38th minute. Luís Fábio Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Meireles in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aírton Meireles to make the kick off. Luís Fábio Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roberto Siqueira in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Amaral saved Digolas FC from getting behind. If Aírton Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aírton Meireles in the 88th minute of play forced Cedro Futbol Club's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Álvaro de Godoy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fábio Varela. Cedro Futbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Álvaro de Godoy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Basílio Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Álvaro de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cedro Futbol Club succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Digolas FC had controlled the match.
