Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cléberson Martins started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, CHAPECOENSE's goalkeeper Vinícius Favoretto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Percival Tande. In the 8th minute, Andrézinho Maranhense made a precise shot to the right of Afonso Melo. Coleta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 12th match minute, CHAPECOENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Hames to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, CHAPECOENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Martins came free, but Vinícius Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CHAPECOENSE's Vinícius Favoretto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save CHAPECOENSE from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Coleta booed when CHAPECOENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinícius Favoretto was a little too slow when Célio Guimarães got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-1. Célio Guimarães's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vinícius Favoretto firmly grabbed it by the left post. Andrézinho Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Afonso Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute José Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Martins in the 35th minute of play forced CHAPECOENSE's goalkeeper Vinícius Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vinícius Favoretto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percival Tande in the 36th minute. Célio Guimarães's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vinícius Favoretto firmly grabbed it by the left post. 40 minutes into the game, Hamílton Severo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CHAPECOENSE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coleta the free kick. A collision led to CHAPECOENSE getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Hamílton Severo hit a great ball. Vinícius Favoretto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Célio Guimarães in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the game, Percival Tande was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coleta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CHAPECOENSE the free kick. After a rather tough play, Coleta's Percival Tande got a free kick in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Coleta's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Maranhense came free, but Afonso Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrézinho Maranhense to make the kick off. Cássio Hames hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 53 played minutes, Coleta's Sidney Teles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vinícius Favoretto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coleta reached it. In the 56th minute Andrézinho Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Saraivas short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Afonso Melo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 65th minute of the match Bernardinho Mazza shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vinícius Favoretto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. José Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Cléberson Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Percival Tande made a precise shot to the right of Vinícius Favoretto. CHAPECOENSE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After 82 minutes of play, Coleta's Percival Tande made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinícius Favoretto was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the match, Coleta's Percival Tande sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vinícius Favoretto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vinícius Favoretto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cléberson Martins went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 94 minutes into the match, Coleta's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Maranhense came free, but Afonso Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CHAPECOENSE's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
