Bacaiuval's Jânio das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Bacaiuval from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Hoffmann in the 10th minute of play forced Salome's goalkeeper Sílvio Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Dagoberto Hoffmann came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Bacaiuval fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Hoffmann couldn't finish the play. Sílvio Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Salome's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Hoffmann came free, but Sílvio Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Soares having to interfere. Sílvio Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 24 minutes on the clock, Gualter Valladares commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 24 minutes into the game, one of Bacaiuval:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Christian Urbano walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 27th minute Carlos Fernando Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Trancoso in the 30th minute of play forced Salome's goalkeeper Sílvio Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jânio das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Bacaiuval's Marcin Trads sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sílvio Soares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Baltazar Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jânio das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Carlos Fernando Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Felippe Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aloísio do Vale received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sílvio Soares came out and tried to block the shot, but Aloísio do Vale slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Vinhas in the 61st minute of play forced Salome's goalkeeper Sílvio Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salome's Baltazar Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Marcin Trads had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltazar Andrade hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Marcin Trads managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacaiuval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcin Trads was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salome's goalkeeper Sílvio Soares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Bacaiuval booed when Salome was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Christian Urbano fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salome's protests and gave Christian Urbano a yellow card for diving instead. Christian Urbano kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Salome defense, Marcin Trads kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sílvio Soares. The Salome fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sílvio Soares should have stopped the shot. Jânio das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Carlos Fernando Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Soares having to interfere. Richard Bastos hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Bacaiuval left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Salome.
