Gaivotas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Feliciano the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Gaivotas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Abraão to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Gaivotas's goalkeeper Gilberto Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laerte Freire. Filipe Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rodriguinho Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Gaivotas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Leme to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Filipe Paraibano notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Feliciano's Rodriguinho Simões. Rodriguinho Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zé Carlos Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Rodriguinho Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaivotas. Yan Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Rodriguinho Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 58th minute, Laerte Freire ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilberto Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Zé Carlos Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Filipe Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaivotas's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Simões breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th match minute, Feliciano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Rodriguinho Simões came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Gaivotas's Zé Carlos Guimarães. But to his dismay, Zé Carlos Guimarães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Rodriguinho Simões successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zé Carlos Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Rodriguinho Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaivotas. Zé Carlos Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Laerte Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filipe Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Rodriguinho Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filipe Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Simões having to interfere. 91 minutes in the game, Filipe Paraibano fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rodriguinho Simões having to interfere. Gaivotas's Zé Carlos Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th match minute, Gaivotas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Gaivotas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Feliciano throughout the match.
