If Kauã Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adhemar Furlan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Conrado Baiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Sílvio Luís Matorin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eusébio Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tomazinho's goalkeeper Nilton Moraes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sílvio Luís Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Sílvio Luís Matorin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Beto Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Nilton Moraes made a huge save. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Fonceca EC's Sílvio Luís Matorin in the 42nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Nilton Moraes was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Tomazinho through an amazing save. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Sílvio Luís Matorin sped through Tomazinho's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nilton Moraes. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Nilton Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Martins in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Tomazinho's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Martins came free, but Nilton Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sílvio Luís Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Moraes having to interfere. Beto Martins struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Nilton Moraes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fonceca EC. After 68 played minutes Tomazinho got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Custódio. The Fonceca EC fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Fonceca EC's Sílvio Luís Matorin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Fonceca EC's Gilberto Tepedino got a free kick in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, Fonceca EC's Conrado Baiano got control of the ball when Adhemar Furlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Célio Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tomazinho's protests and gave Célio Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. Nilton Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Matorin in the 76th minute of play. Adhemar Furlan kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Sílvio Luís Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilton Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sílvio Luís Matorin's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Nilton Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute Beto Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilton Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tomazinho players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fonceca EC.
