Itapitacai AD's Damian Podolski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Nogueira in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Paulo de Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Podolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tibúrcio Romero didn't quite understand what happened when in the 24 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 26 minutes into the match, Varzedo EC's Paulo de Godoy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damian Podolski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kauã Corrêa couldn't finish the play. If Durvalino Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Itapitacai AD getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Kauã Corrêa hit a great ball. Damian Podolski came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Varzedo EC's Túlio Nascimento. But to his dismay, Túlio Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 47th minute, Itapitacai AD's Fred do Vale seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fred do Vale the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Itapitacai AD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fred do Vale had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 48 played minutes, Varzedo EC's Cafu Meira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Damian Podolski came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Varzedo EC reached it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when José Paulo Fernandez made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Itapitacai AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kauã Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. Varzedo EC's Geovanni Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Arruda in the 62nd minute of play. Itapitacai AD's Damian Podolski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio Nascimento in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Itapitacai AD's Chaisiri Saejeer got a free kick in the 71st minute. Itapitacai AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Itapitacai AD's Chaisiri Saejeer got a free kick in the 78th minute. Dito Alcântara's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Damian Podolski firmly grabbed it by the left post. Itapitacai AD's Damian Podolski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Itapitacai AD from getting a goal against them. Geovanni Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
