A collision led to Icarai getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Arthur Simão hit a great ball. Silvinho Quintal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Toninho Madureira made a huge save. Toninho Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleandro Zanette in the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Bastos SC's goalkeeper Toninho Madureira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvinho Quintal. Pedro Luiz Macedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Icarai booed when Bastos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Icarai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeferson Travassos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 34 minutes into the match, Bastos SC's goalkeeper Toninho Madureira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvinho Quintal. Toninho Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aleandro Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Silvinho Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toninho Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleandro Zanette in the 38th minute of play. Pedro Luiz Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Bueno having to interfere. The shot was a little too simple and Toninho Madureira could save by the left post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvinho Quintal to make the kick off. Bastos SC's Toninho Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Quintal in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to Bastos SC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Virgílio Hoffmann hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Icarai had played much better football throughout.
