In the 2nd minute, Gernando de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júnior Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Meireles in the 10th minute of play. Pedro Paulo Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Natã Sá hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Grott Esporte Clube's Júnior Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Soares in the 21st minute of play. When Toninho Abraão fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grott Esporte Clube's protests and gave Toninho Abraão a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Grott Esporte Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Prea:s goal. In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Prea. Cipriano de Almeida stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Júnior Perez. 0-1. 31 minutes into the match, Hortêncio Pernambucano notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Prea's Gugu Pires. Gugu Pires was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If José Vítor Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Genílson Maia suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 37 minutes into the game, Armando da Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grott Esporte Clube the free kick. Grott Esporte Clube's Júnior Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Paulo Meireles in the 42nd minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Paulo Meireles made a kick off. Edvaldo Rosado hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. David Soares was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Soares got free with Júnior Perez in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grott Esporte Clube's Júnior Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Grott Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. David Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Júnior Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gugu Pires didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hortêncio Pernambucano went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Hortêncio Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Grott Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, Grott Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Meireles came free, but Júnior Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hortêncio Pernambucano struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Gugu Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grott Esporte Clube. Pedro Paulo Meireles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Júnior Perez having to make a save. 96 minutes into the match, Prea's Gernando de Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júnior Perez narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
