With a little luck, Jacuripe's Sydney Medeiros got control of the ball when Eriberto Botelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Valeria FC booed when Jacuripe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Valeria FC's Luiz Guilherme de Lara in 8 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Sydney Medeiros guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 10th minute, Dino Senna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacuripe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tostão Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Sydney Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valeria FC. Valeria FC's Tostão Guimarães suffered a concussion after 18 minutes and had to leave the field. A collision led to Jacuripe getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Arlindo Meira hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Valeria FC's Beto Prestes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Eriberto Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eriberto Botelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sydney Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Eriberto Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Medeiros having to interfere. Umberto de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Medeiros having to interfere. Umberto de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 47 minutes, Eriberto Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valeria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Betinho Albuquerque stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rony Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betinho Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rony Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Albuquerque in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Valeria FC got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Nóbrega. Sydney Medeiros came out of the goal and Luiz Guilherme de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sydney Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Botelho in the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Luiz Guilherme de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valeria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Guilherme de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eriberto Botelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sydney Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eriberto Botelho ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the match, Jacuripe's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Barral came free, but Sydney Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eriberto Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Umberto de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacuripe's Sydney Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Nóbrega in the 88th minute of play. Umberto de Amaral struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Sydney Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valeria FC.
