Nilton Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Quadros in the 13th minute of play forced Red Bull BRASIL FC's goalkeeper Nilton Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Isaltino Viana fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F C IGREJINHA's protests and gave Isaltino Viana a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Red Bull BRASIL FC booed when F C IGREJINHA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Digo Bueno kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Waldir Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F C IGREJINHA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Quadros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabrício Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Teles having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Red Bull BRASIL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Viana came free, but Nilton Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Red Bull BRASIL FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Juarês Melo hit a great ball. Nilton Machado didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabrício Andrade to make the kick off. Marcelo de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabrício Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrício Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabrício Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Alfredo Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Teles having to interfere. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind F C IGREJINHA's goalkeeper Rômulo Teles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Isaltino Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Red Bull BRASIL FC's Digo Bueno got a free kick in the 69th minute. Nelsinho Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Fabrício Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Red Bull BRASIL FC's Rômulo Teles threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabrício Andrade, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 84th minute, Marcelo de Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nilton Machado was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Waldir Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilton Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo de Barros in the 96th minute of the match. The F C IGREJINHA support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
