The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Jarbas Luz made a precise shot to the right of Nilton Machado. After some careless play in the Salobro defense, Fabrício Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Augusto Dionísio. The Salobro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Augusto Dionísio should have stopped the shot. Fabrício Andrade scored 1-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Augusto Dionísio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilton Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Jarbas Luz struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Nilton Machado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salobro. 43 minutes into the match, Red Bull BRASIL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Lopez came free, but Nilton Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Fabrício Andrade made the kick off in the second half. Nelsinho Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The goalkeeper, Zé Augusto Dionísio, was totally fooled by Red Bull BRASIL FC's Alfredo Montenegro, who 54 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 60 minutes into the match, Red Bull BRASIL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Lopez came free, but Nilton Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nelsinho Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilton Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The audience was convinced that Jarbas Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilton Machado was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Luís Fábio Brito took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nilton Machado. Red Bull BRASIL FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 83 minutes, Jarbas Luz made it 2-6 with a short kick to the right side. Red Bull BRASIL FC's Nilton Machado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute, Red Bull BRASIL FC's Fabrício Andrade ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zé Augusto Dionísio. Adelino Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adelino Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Red Bull BRASIL FC booed when Salobro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Salobro fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Red Bull BRASIL FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
