Sandrinho Xavier scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mazinho Branco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the match, SC Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão Donato came free, but Mazinho Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felippe Pena's late challenge caught a Crioulas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felippe Pena helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Internacional's Felippe Pena got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Afonsinho Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felippe Pena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Ferreira having to make a save. In the 37thth minute of the game Afonsinho Mangueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Internacional's Mazinho Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mazinho Branco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulão Donato's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After 46 played minutes SC Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Armando de Medeiros. In the 47th minute of the match Ronaldinho Madureira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mazinho Branco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 49th minute, Armando de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldinho Madureira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 50th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mazinho Branco. SC Internacional's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Egídio Saraiva made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Mangueira in the 59th minute of play forced SC Internacional's goalkeeper Mazinho Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Afonsinho Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crioulas's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonsinho Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertinho Donatello hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Mangueira in the 91st minute of play forced SC Internacional's goalkeeper Mazinho Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Egídio Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felippe Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Ferreira having to interfere. Marcelo Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. In the 98th minute Afonsinho Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The SC Internacional supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Crioulas's performance. The match ended with a win for Crioulas.
